Popcorn stiple was the most common ceiling texture in the past but many people are now having it scraped off and replaced with knock-down or splatter ceiling texture. Popcorn Stiple is the best texture to cover up a less than perfect tape job as it hides many imperfections.

Knock-Down ceiling texture is the best thing you can put on your ceiling. It costs the most because it involves the most work but the finished result is well worth the price.
